Dr. Jiri Snaidr is a microbiologist, technology innovator, and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience. After earning his Ph.D. from the Technical University of Munich, Department of Microbiology, he founded vermicon AG<\/a> in 1997, where he remains Chairman of the Board to this day. vermicon provides microbiology solutions worldwide, focusing primarily on the detection of uncultivable and unknown microorganisms using VIT\u00ae gene probe technology. He has published numerous articles in prestigious journals and is an international speaker on topics related to entrepreneurship and applied microbiology. As part of the GO-Bio funding program, he served for many years as a reviewer for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. <\/p>\n

As Vice-President of the VAAM<\/a> (Association for General and Applied Microbiology), he is committed to a future in which applied microbiology plays a key role.<\/p>\n

He realized early on that the public perception of bacteria is distorted and that their true role for humans and nature is not sufficiently appreciated. With the founding of Magnospira GmbH & Co. Laura Snaidr is a biologist and earned her master\u2019s degree from the Technical University of Munich. During her studies, she focused primarily on microbiology, in addition to neurobiology. She wrote her master\u2019s thesis on Parkinson\u2019s disease at the Helmholtz Zentrum M\u00fcnchen. <\/p>\n

During her studies and after graduation, she worked at vermicon AG. There, she helped develop a new method for detecting and quantifying probiotics. The results of this work were later published in a scientific journal. <\/p>\n

In 2025, she began her doctoral studies at Heidelberg University Hospital. As part of her dissertation, she is conducting research on the immune system of newborns and investigating how it is influenced by the gut microbiome. <\/p>\n

At Magnospira, Laura combines her passion for biology with her scientific background. Through her work, she aims to help raise awareness of the importance of the microbiome for human health.
